A prospective cross-sectional study is set to evaluate whether a wearable patch-type ultrasound probe can match FibroScan's diagnostic accuracy for detecting significant liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in patients with chronic liver disease. With 150 participants and a completion date of 2028, the trial could pave the way for point-of-care fibrosis assessment beyond specialist liver clinics. Australian clinicians managing NAFLD and chronic hepatitis B should monitor this study closely.
