A Queen Mary University of London study at Barts Hospital is validating a wearable continuous interstitial lactate sensor against arterial and venous blood gas measurements in patients undergoing elective CABG and valve surgery. With 61 participants enrolled and results expected in 2026, this device validation trial could pave the way for non-invasive, real-time lactate monitoring in perioperative and critical care settings.
