A new randomised controlled trial from the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota is testing whether a culturally aligned digital smoking cessation program can improve quit rates among American Indian adults, a population that bears a disproportionate burden of tobacco-related disease. The fully remote trial enrolls 416 participants and uses biochemically confirmed abstinence as its primary endpoint. Clinicians working with Indigenous communities should take note of this landmark equity-focused cessation research.
