RCT Launched: Can AI-Generated Translation Match Professional Standards for Health Knowledge Resources in Multilingual Canadian Parents?

·clinical-trialsA University of Alberta randomised controlled trial is set to rigorously compare AI-generated, professionally translated, and English-only health knowledge resources across four languages — Mandarin, Punjabi, Tagalog, and Urdu. With 576 Canadian parents enrolled across language groups, the study will generate the first robust evidence on whether AI translation can meet the comprehension and usability standards required for paediatric health decision-making. Findings are expected to reshape multilingual health communication policy well beyond Canada.
