AstraZeneca has launched a multicenter pilot study investigating whether non-invasive retinal imaging can detect transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) — a condition that remains critically underdiagnosed despite the availability of effective therapies. The 500-participant study across the US, Germany, Portugal, and Spain aims to assess the feasibility of an ocular imaging-based screening model that could transform the diagnostic pathway for this progressive cardiac condition.
