A new pilot implementation trial from Ahmadu Bello University is testing whether a prostate cancer risk calculator validated specifically for Nigerian men can be feasibly deployed by primary care providers at community-level hospitals. The study addresses a critical gap: existing risk calculators were developed in Western populations and may systematically misclassify African men, who carry among the highest prostate cancer burden globally. Results are anticipated by late 2029.
