The completed NEXAF trial — a 300-participant Norwegian multicentre RCT — has tested whether a 12-month eHealth-delivered home exercise programme can reduce AF burden and improve quality of life in patients with paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation. Using continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring as an objective endpoint, NEXAF is poised to deliver the most rigorous evidence yet for exercise prescriptions in AF management.
