A group randomised trial underway in Brazil is evaluating whether integrating a purpose-built mHealth application into Community Health Worker-delivered tobacco cessation support significantly improves quit rates among low-income women smokers. The study, sponsored by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, targets 431 participants across eight towns and could establish a scalable model for digitally-augmented cessation programs in low-resource settings worldwide.
