The GLIOMAID study (NCT07703761), led by the University of Trento, is building Italy's first dedicated glioma imaging database of 700 patients to train and validate AI models capable of detecting, segmenting, and characterising brain tumours from MRI alone — without invasive biopsy. With high-grade glioma survival rates remaining stubbornly poor despite decades of research, validated non-invasive diagnostic tools could meaningfully accelerate treatment decisions and reduce procedural risk for patients.
