Northwestern University has opened a feasibility trial testing whether an automated SMS-based safety planning program can be acceptably delivered to young adults aged 18–24 experiencing suicidal ideation. The study will enrol 60 participants across a randomised, waitlist-controlled design and aims to generate the evidence base needed to support a fully powered RCT of this scalable digital intervention.
