A new UCSF-sponsored trial is testing whether the FostrSpace digital health application, delivered through Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) workers, can reduce drug and cigarette use among foster youth aged 13–20. With 400 participants enrolling by invitation across the United States, the study addresses a critical gap in evidence-based prevention for one of adolescent medicine's most vulnerable populations. Results are anticipated by 2029.
