A cluster-randomised hybrid trial launching in Tanzania will test whether a community health worker-led digital health intervention — combining SMS reminders, financial incentives, and real-time service notifications — can improve the timeliness of child well visits in the first year of life. The 800-participant study (NCT06024317) targets a critical evidence gap in preventive care delivery across sub-Saharan Africa. Results expected by 2027 could reshape CHW programme design across low- and middle-income country health systems.
