A new clinical trial from the University of Pavia is directly comparing AI-based cephalometric platforms — WebCeph, QuantX, and Smartee — against conventional digital manual tracing in 100 standardised lateral cephalograms. The study aims to determine whether automated systems can match the accuracy of expert digital analysis across sagittal, vertical, dental, and soft tissue parameters. Results are expected by late 2026 and will have significant implications for orthodontic diagnostic workflows globally.
