A University of Illinois at Chicago trial is investigating whether AI-powered remote dental monitoring can personalise clear aligner progression intervals, potentially reducing refinement rates and in-office visits without compromising orthodontic outcomes. The study uses the Dental Monitoring™ platform to reconstruct 3D dental models remotely and guide clinician decision-making in real time. Results are anticipated by late 2028 and could reshape how orthodontic practices integrate teledentistry into routine care.
